The Canon EOS 60D can shoot video of 1080/30p and 720/60p in MOV format. The MOV file format has well compatibility with Mac applications like QuickTime, iMovie, iTunes, etc. However, to some Windows PC owners, it may be a nightmare to them. Though the MOV file format can be acceptable with some professional like Adobe Premiere or Sony Vegas, it says NO to Windows Movie Maker.
As we know that the Windows Movie Maker can optimally accept Windows-compliant file formats like AVI, WMV or MPEG2. So it seems to be obscure solution to convert MOV from EOS 60D to Movie Maker AVI/WMV/MPEG2. Here I recommend the excellent Canon 60D MOV to Movie Maker Converter, which can effortlessly transcode the Canon 60D MOV files to any WMM acceptable file formats like MPEG2, AVI, WMV, etc. Also, it has rich presets for portable devices like the New iPad, Nexus 7, Galaxy S3, etc. So you can enjoy your shootings on the move.
Backup the .mov footage(s) from Canon EOS 60D to PC. Then, click "Add File" to recorded clips to Window Movie Maker Converter.
Select "AVI-Audio-Video-Interleaved" under the "Common Video", after hitting the "Profile" Menu.
In order to have higher video quality, you can choose HD Video-HD AVI as output file format. In the way, you can get the maximum video resolution of 1920x1080.
Hit "START" button to launch the conversion from Canon 60D MOV to AVI
When the conversion is finished, you can directly access to the generated file by default. Then, what you need is to import the exported .avi from EOS 60D to WMM.
