Apple claims that iMovie'11 has done better with more camcorder footages in DV, HDV and AVCHD, etc. However, some AVCHD camcorder owners still feel painful for their AVCHD MTS shootings can't be recognized by iMovie. Three possible reasons:

1. Check out your Mac processor. If yours is older version of Intel-based, you may failed in importing MTS to iMovie, for older version of Inter-based Mac can't support AVCHD MTS file.

2. Confirm whether the MTS file is in original structure. If yes, you can import them into iMovie'11. So it's recommended that connect camcorder to Mac, then directly load .mts clip(s) to iMovie.

3. The third situation, though your Mac runs on OSX 10.6 Snow Leopard or above and the MTS files is raw one, the MTS file still grey out when try to import into iMovie. In the case, convert MTS to iMovie friendly-file formats like MOV can be the easy way out.
